Welcome! Cappie, star of two episodes of Discovery Channel's Building-Off-The-Grid and co-host of Magnolia Network’s Building Outside the Lines, built this adorable off-grid cottage as his own, but now you have the opportunity to stay!

This beautiful 3-acre property, once the Swisher Farm, is today a working homestead, with dozens of chickens and a large garden. This quiet oasis is located within the city of Spearfish.

This cottage is handmade, from the bespoke front door to the custom 2-headed shower. We know you'll appreciate the details!

I wish we stayed longer! My husband & I had a short stay as we were splitting our drive to a week long vacation in Montana. This home/property is so cute & the beautiful scenery is to die for. We saw many deer & other wildlife wondering the property. It was a great stay & I highly recommend!

Perfect location This is a great quiet spot…..perfect location secluded and private. Candace had great prompt communication. Definitely would book this again in a heartbeat.

Quiet location This property is in great condition, but is not for people with mobility issues. The bed and toilet require a step stool to use and the bed is against a wall. You have to crawl over the other person to get out. But, the bed is very comfortable. Also, no bedside table (difficult if you use a CPAP). There are no doors on the bathroom or bedroom. Not a big problem for us, but might be for some. The curtains don't block any light. The location is great. Very quiet and close to a walking path. Nice place, but not our cup of tea.

Uniquely Amazing Experience This property was unique and whimsicle. The cobb house was so fun but the part we enjoyed the most was the tub in the creek and the swing right by it. It's where my friend and I spent the most time. Easeful check in, clean space. Don't let the toilet scare you. It works just fine and doesn’t smell one bit! Would definitely stay again!

Beautiful Property and Amazing Owners Oh my gosh!! This property was amazing… I only stayed one night but wish I stayed longer. Me and my friend really enjoyed the sauna along with the beautiful land. The owners were extremely friendly! When I come back to the hills I will definitely be staying here again.
