Property Reviews
At A Glance!
Reviews indicate that this property is well-located, with many guests appreciating its proximity to key areas like Forest Park, Clayton, and downtown St. Louis. The apartment is described as clean, well-furnished, and comfortable, with responsive and helpful hosts. However, some guests noted issues with the air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and parking, as well as discrepancies between the photos and the actual unit. Overall, the sentiment is mixed, with positive remarks about the convenience and amenities, but some concerns about maintenance and value for money.
WashU parent The apartment was very nice and Arthur Banks was great. It was incredibly hot outside and the AC struggled the first night, but when it cooled down outside it was perfect. Some confusion about how to use the TV remote the 1st night, but Arthur was very reachable and prompt to respond!

Summer Stay My daughter and her friend stayed for the summer in this unit. It was the perfect option for then since furnished short term leases are difficult to find in STL. The owner was helpful and attentive to any need that they had over the summer. The location was great for them. If you are looking for a place to stay close to Forest Park, Clayton, Wash U, Central West End, or even downtown, choose this VRBO!

Nice property, great stay This was the right place for our two-night stay in St. Louis. We wanted an apartment rather than a hotel room, and this was a good one in a nice location at a great value. Pictures were very close but not identical to the apartment where we stayed. The layout was slightly different in terms of the position of the kitchen compared to the main living area, but this did not materially affect our enjoyment of our stay. Nearly identical decor to the photos. (Perhaps the property owner rents out more than one place with slightly different floor plans.) We enjoyed our day at the Gateway Arch, City Museum, and Union Station (with a mid-afternoon break at the apartment).

Good stay in convenient location Comfortable and well equipped apartment in perfect location for our needs and visiting STL's fine Forest Park and museums. Not quite Plush Living in decor but perfectly adequate. Some problems with wi-fi though.

Our stay was great! We had a wonderful stay at this property. Everything was clean and convenient. All our destinations, errands were 15 min away from where we stayed and parking has been easier. As we got there we were updated that a new parking spot was acquired very close to the back doors. Made loading and unloading from our trip quick and easy!

19 night stay. The apartment was comfortable and well furnished, although it was slightly different to that shown in the photos. We arrived in the middle of the night due to significant airline delays but checking in and accessing the keys was very easy. We were aware that the parking spot was some distance from the building & this didn’t pose too much of an issue & it did help increase our step counts for the day! The apartment was very very warm - far too warm despite keeping the blinds closed all of the time! The temp on the thermostat never went below 75 (our phone apps were measuring 84!) I appreciate that the air con unit may be old & not as effective as newer units, but it was way too hot & quite uncomfortable at times.

Weekend Getaway My best friends, niece, & daughter meet up when we can in St. Louis because it is a 5 1/2 hr drive from both of our home states. We met up to see a Burlesque show, post Malone concert, & to see other sites of St Louis! We enjoyed our time at the Park Lux! Perfect spot as everything is within reach of 5-15 mins from the apartment depending on traffic. The hosts was very on point with any questions or concerns we would have! We HIGHLY RECOMMEND

family reunion, vacation I am going to be honest. When we arrived were not impressed by the building once we got inside. The lobby was nice but when we got to the elevator the disappoint began. The hallway was dirty and the elevator had these pads on 3 walls. The hallway where the apartment was located was dirty and smelled. The apartment was similar to the photo. I will say the apartment was very well stocked and had everything we needed. The apartment had: a refrigerator, stove, microwave, eating utensils, cookware, internet tv, linen for bed and shower and soap/shampoo dispensers/ in the shower. Once we got use to the apartment; it was kind of nice. Parking was an issue because the spaces around the building inside the mechanical gate were assigned so we had to park about 150 yards away from the building or on the street. All in all it wasn't what we expected but we made it work.

Disapointment The advertised average price on VRBO was far less than the ultimate rate required by owner, who clearly takes advatage of jacking the price way up during peak weeks, (we actually stayed at the Ritz Carlton for less money a few weeks earlier). The towels all had bleach stains, there were only 2 hangers provided, it had an overall dirty feeling, and it was an older unit that needs updating. If you pay $85-$129/night which is listed, it'll do okay if you need to be in that area of town....but if it's over that (like the almost $500/night we paid after all was said and done), find a hotel with free warm cookies, fresh coffee in the lobby, and soft towels and you'll have a much better experience.
