The 850 sf first floor suite offers one bedroom with one queen sized bed, a 3/4 bath, spacious foyer and a comfortable sitting and dining area. The entrance and all aspects of the suite are handicap accessible. It also offers seasonal availability to a stone patio with a large fire pit and access to 2.4 acres of beautifully manicured lawns and gardens. Your experienced hosts live on the 2nd and 3rd floors. Guests are assured of privacy and tranquility in a setting with exceptional views.
The sitting area provides a refrigerator, microwave, Keurig coffee maker and a full inventory of dishes and utensils. Two large south facing windows give great views of the lawn, flower gardens and Mt Philo. A comfortable loveseat, nautical library and some fun games gives you all you need to relax after a full day.
The Gardner Residence is located 1 mile north of Mt. Philo State Park. Drive or walk to the summit to enjoy a spectacular 180 degree view of Lake Champlain and the New York Adirondack mountain range. Take your camera, the sunsets are incredible. Charlotte beach and Lake Champlain are a delightful 5 minute drive away.
Shelburne Farms and Shelburne Museum are Vermont's #1 tourist attractions and located just 10 minutes away. Numerous casual and fine dining restaurants are within a 5 mile radius. The Gardner Residence rural setting is ideal for long bike rides, hikes up Mt. Philo. paddle boarding on the lake and long walks on country roads. End each day relaxing by the fire pit.

Our stay was great. We arrived late at night, and Gayle was very responsive to texts and even stayed up to welcome us when we got there. We would definitely stay again if we find ourselves back in Vermont.

We had a very sweet time enjoying this property. It was very peaceful and quiet. The pool table was a wonderful surprise. Unfortunately, while we were there, it was raining so we didn't get to enjoy the Gardens much, but they were beautiful.

Lovely home
Lovely home with beautiful landscaping and views of the surrounding hills. Very nicely decorated, comfortable. Location was rural but is a quick drive to attractions and into town. Gracious friendly hosts. Special place!

Even more lovely than the photos
We were in town for a wedding and had the perfect stay at Olive's beautiful home. The grounds are so lush and lovely, making a tranquil respite during an otherwise busy weekend. Oliver was gracious and so friendly, but respected our privacy throughout our stay. I wish we had more time getting to know him. What a fascinating backstory his photos and artwork tell! We'll be back for sure.

Family Visit
Location was ideal for us as it was very close to family. Very peaceful and quiet. Enjoyed the time spent with Oliver & Gayle. We’d like to stay there again if we come back to visit family in future years.

Warm and friendly hosts
The accommodations at the Gardner home were exceptional. Although we missed the peak summer season, it was apparent that the property is absolutely stunning when everything is in bloom. The views from the bedroom and sitting room were beautiful. Can’t say enough good things about Oliver and Gayle, our hosts. Both are very interesting people and wonderful conversationalists. They provided useful insights about the area and we got to know a little about them in our short stay. Oliver was also very accommodating to our needs. We will definitely return in the future.
