About this House

There are a lot of Georgia mountain rental properties to choose from, but few are as spectacular as The Haven on Toccoa. Situated on more than two wooded acres in a beautiful valley on 230 ft. of riverfront surrounded by breathtaking 360° long-range Blue Ridge mountain views, this picture postcard showplace of a home is more modern mountain lodge than quaint and cozy cabin.

You won't find animal figurines and homey slogans, but you will see real wildlife like deer and turkey on the property, and you can fish for trout in the river, right outside the back door. The expansive lawn is ideal for playing frisbee or tossing a football, and the perfect setting for celebrations. With accommodations for 14 guests, it's the rare rental that's large enough for a large family or group of friends.

It's a 20 to 30-minute, scenic drive to downtown Blue Ridge's shops, restaurants and famous railway tour, and convenient to all the activities the Aska Adventure Area has to offer, including hiking, horseback riding, and canoeing, kayaking, and tubing on the Toccoa river. Inside, the home is luxurious and chic, a mix of rich woods and Tennessee fieldstone, professionally and comfortably decorated with contemporary Pottery Barn pieces in an elegant, upscale style.

The main level great room, with its cathedral ceiling and wall of windows to showcase the view, is made for fun family gatherings, with leather sofas and chairs, a custom remote-controlled gas fireplace, a selection of board games, a 75” Smart TV above the log mantel and Bluetooth speakers. Pull-out king beds in the sofas are perfect for extra guests.

The spacious, fully-stocked kitchen is state-of-the-art, with wood cabinets, granite counters, an island with four stools, a refrigerator with icemaker, professional gas stove and oven, microwave, dishwasher and drip coffeemaker. The dining table seats eight. But why stay inside when you can relax in style on the covered deck? You'll find a wood-burning fireplace, gas grill, a five-seat hot tub and plenty of seating, plus two fire pits to keep you warm as you take in the view.

You'll rest in comfort and style in one of the lodge's four bedrooms, one on the main level and three upstairs. The main level master suite has a king bed, direct access to the hot tub deck, a 55” Smart TV and private bath with double vanity and a waterfall shower. On the upper level, the master bedroom has a vaulted ceiling, 55” Smart TV, and private bath with double vanity, custom cabinets and counters, a clawfoot jetted tub and a walk-in shower with a frameless glass door. The other two bedrooms, one with a king bed and the other a kids' bunk room that sleeps four, each have 50” Smart TVs and share a large bathroom with custom cabinets and counters, jetted tub and shower. There's an additional half bath on the main level, and a reading nook in the upstairs loft with a desk, armchair and a dartboard.

It's a beautiful, easy ride to The Haven on Toccoa. Guest amenities include wireless internet, streaming via DISH Network, laundry facilities, and cooling ceiling fans throughout the home. You don't have to leave your furry best friend behind: for a fee, you can bring up to two dogs with you to experience a one-of-a-kind getaway at this magnificent luxury retreat.

Property Reviews
At A Glance!
Reviews indicate that this property offers a beautiful and peaceful setting with great views, making it ideal for family gatherings and relaxation. Guests appreciated the spaciousness and cleanliness of the house, as well as the responsive management team. However, several reviews noted issues with the remote location, requiring guests to bring their own supplies and deal with limited amenities in the kitchen. Additionally, some maintenance concerns, such as low water pressure and cleanliness issues on the porch, were mentioned. Overall, the sentiment is mostly positive, with guests enjoying their stay despite some drawbacks.
the Haven Very pretty property, however location is remote. You need to be prepared with all items you need for the length of your stay or run the risk of doing without. Nearest grocery is at least 40 minutes away and you need to negotiate narrow mountain roadways to get there. Appliances seemed cheap and never worked in at least one case (the washer). The management company was very responsive to our requests but, after the third call, we were tired of people other than ourselves being in the cabin and decided to write off any other needed repairs (e.g.: they attempted to fix the washer but were not successful. They were able to replace some needed light bulbs and got the outdoor spa cleaned up and filled to the correct level, but the spa took two days before someone was able to respond. They were able to fix the inside electric fireplace.) I also highly recommend bringing plenty of soap, kitchen towels, toilet paper, and ESPECIALLY garbage bags as your initial supply will not last you a full week. You will also want to bring a sharp knife if needed and possibly some cooking equipment as the kitchen is poorly furnished with pots and pans, and those that are there are in poor condition. Plenty of plates and silverware and a coffee pot, slow cooker, griddle, and toaster. Bring your own spices. If you plan to fish, plan on coming in the spring or summer. Thanksgiving week is not a good time to trout fish but trout fishing is available on the property other times.

What a cabin!! Everything was as advertised, extremely peaceful and great views! Trout fishing was not the right river location but worth the trip!

Beautiful, Clean & Peaceful Our stay, was a much needed getaway. The house is beautiful. Lots of bedrooms & restrooms so no one have to wait for one another. It’s clean and we got a cute welcome goodie box and welcoming note. It’s clean inside out, the hot tub and the outside patio was just so relaxing even with kids we can still enjoy and have a great time even though it was raining and we only have one sunshine day to be by the river and let the kids enjoy the beautiful big yard. My only complaint is the internet service isn’t that good so our movie night was a no go.

Haven on Tacoa The barn swallows have made a huge mess at the front door and on the covered porch. Everytime you left and came back the furniture under the covered porch was covered with mud from the swallows. The fans under the porch didn’t work. The water pressure in the kitchen sink was very low so the dishwasher struggled to get dishes clean. The rest of the house and property was very nice. Tried fishing behind the house with no luck. Saw quite a few deer and turkeys.

Wonderful Weekend for Memories The valley view and river access was special. We had a large family but the space was accommodating and also cozy enough for good conversations. We will return.
