About this House
Experience a tiny little glimpse into the past in this cozy restored cabin, 1.3 miles from downtown Highlands ,built before the days of huge, looming, extravagance. 640 square feet with bunk bed room and living room and bath on main floor, and kitchen and master with en-suite bath downstairs. An accurate representation of the time period, this home features gorgeous original hard wood flooring, and two perfect porch's for relaxing while listening to the native owls and birds. Outfitted with modern conveniences like great wifi (87 Mbps) Fire stick tv and beautiful furnishings you will have everything needed without all the headache. The downstairs porch is ready for a late evening meal with our charcoal grill or upstairs to just sit back & listen to sounds of the wildlife while enjoying a fire in the new smokeless wood burning fire-pit. A perfect nook for relaxation with a cottage feel. During the winter enjoy the deep woods with the winter view. If you are here during the snow, hear the silence... the sparkling and occasional bird track in the crispness of snow. Privacy, with private driveway and parking. Guests appreciate its quiet location surrounded by nature, while still being conveniently close to downtown Highlands. The property is noted for its comfortable beds and well-equipped kitchen, ideal for small families or couples. However, some guests expressed concerns about the security of the locks, suggesting a need for improvement in that area. Overall, the sentiment is largely positive, with many guests enjoying their stay and the amenities provided.
Beautiful
The cabin was lovely and well stocked, it was on a very quiet road that was great for walking. Extremely close to town and conveniences. Would loved to have stayed longer!

Highlands Hideaway
Property is as advertised. Clean and comfortable. Cozy=small. Short drive to town but feels like you’re in a forest far, far away.

Mountain Getaway
Property was charming & fit the description accurately. The only thing that we would change would be a little more security with the locks and doors. Seemed like the door locks could have easily been broken into, even though the neighborhood felt safe, my husband was a little uneasy with the glass door/window and door lock so close to each other. We were overall extremely pleased with everything else. Thank you!

Very clean, tiny and dark inside
Nice tiny cabin in the woods, bedrooms especially tiny, no closet space but clean and well equipped. Inside dark but expect that in a woods environment.

A delightful place in the quiet of the woods.
This property is just as pictured, perhaps a bit smaller living room but still comfortable and very pleasant. Lovely furnishings and everything looks new. Location was perfect. Quiet road, surrounded in every direction by woods and gorgeous rhododendrum. Comfy beds, totally equipped kitchen, and two delightful porches, one for wine and a good book and the other for any and all meals outdoors. Not one mosquito. Good wifi, comfy beds, all linens provided - we loved our stay. Visit the Tourist Center for info and don't miss the Nature Center and its lovely walks. Thoroughly enjoyed dinner at The Veranda overlooking the lake and The Lakeside art restaurant. Crowded downtown, but still enjoyable. The waterfalls are worth the trip and the weather is perfection in the summer. Winding roads to and from everywhere, but manageable. Don't believe the weather forecast. Called for rain every day and we had an occasional shower, every OTHER day. It's a lovely house to wait out the downpours and a wonderful road for walking. You will enjoy it all.

Darling Home
My husband, teenage daughter and I needed a quick weekend away from Atlanta. This was perfect. Super close to downtown Highlands but in a lovely walkable neighborhood for our little doggo. The property manager was very responsive via texts as I was preparing what to bring. She answered all q's immediately. But I found out I didn't need to bring much! Coffee, charcoal for grill, etc. all there. Well stocked. It's a petite little home but for a small family or romantic weekend, it's exactly what we needed.
